Bernabe Concepcion isn’t even included in Philboxing’s up-and-coming fighters list!

To those who are not in the know about Philippine boxing. Philboxing.com a brainchild of Dong Secuya is THE Filipino version of “ring magazine’s website”. It started out as a forum for Pacquiao’s fansite – Pacland (mannypacquiao.ph). Since this evolution, which coincided with Pacquiao’s rise to the top of the boxing world, Philboxing.com began to be considered as “the bible” of Philippine boxing. As even Golden Boy Promotions and Toprank bigwigs confess to visiting the site to get updates about Filipino fighters (aside from humoring themselves with Pacquiao’s exploits of course).

This is just why being on that sites list of up-and-coming boxers is important. If you want to get a title shot, you have to be rated, while being on Philboxing.com means exposure to the Filipino fans as well as the international visitors of the website, which according to some interviews got as much as 25,000 visits in one day!

This is a screen-shot of Philboxing.com’s up-and-coming list taken this week. Notice who’s absent? Yup Bernabe Concepcion – The current NABF and WBC youth champion. I hate to compare, and the ones on this list ARE the current crop of superstars of Philippine boxing, but why exclude Concepcion here? He’s younger than most of the boxers here, has more international exposure than some here, is on a current string of wins, holds a youth belt, as well as one regional belt – which he successfully defended twice. What makes him inadequate to be on this list?

One also cannot say that NO ONE pointed this out to Dong Secuya’s attention, as I’m sure a lot of fans have. In fact, one fan even posted that request in August last year after Concepcion added the NABF superbantam crown to his WBC youth belt by knocking out Gabriel Elizondo.

So if you want to vote that Concepcion be included in this list, do so by voting in Philboxing forum if you are a member, or leaving a comment here if you a just surfing the net but would like to vote.

Yes I am in favor of having Abe Concepcion in the list. I personally met this fighter of us last Dec. 2007 in Moriones, Tondo. Very low profile guy. First time I heard him won maybe 2 years ago, I already monitor his fights and he really has a good boxing skills. Mabuhay ka Abe !

Im an avid fan of Philippine Boxing only when the rise of Pacquiao. I started viewing other Filipino boxers upto Mayol. I also viewed the fights of Abe in TV and in youtube. And he’s a good/great fighter. He’s one of Filipino boxers that will follow the step of Manny. That’s for sure.

So why not add him in Philboxing?

Abe, when will be your rematch with Luevano?
